Virgin Mary Doctrines in Obscure Christian History
The Ecumenical Council of Ephesus in 431 A.D. did more than deal with the heresy of Nestorianism. It also made a doctrinal decision regarding the Virgin Mary -- declaring that she was the Theotokos (Mother of God). This video discusses four dogmas of the Roman Catholic Church concerning Mary, and the reasons why they are largely rejected by the Protestant and Evangelical churches.

Obscure Christian History: The Council of Ephesus
In 431 A.D., an ecumenical council was scheduled to take place in Ephesus to deal with the questions of HOW and WHEN the union of Jesus Christ's humanity and deity occurred. But this, and the following Robber Council and Council of Chalcedon, proved to be the most self-serving demonstrations of church politics that had happened to this point, and would lead to disunity existing even today.

Obscure Christian History of Lukewarm Laodicea
We continue to look at the significance of Christ's letters to the seven churches of Asia. Laodicea was the last of the churches addressed, and it had the harshest reprimand. It was neither hot nor cold so that, like lukewarm water, it was only worth spitting from God's mouth. This warning is still relevant to Christians today.

The church in Pergamum had a lot to deal with. In some respects they triumphed, but in others they stumbled. Watch the video to find out more.
